SHiNE LIGHT is a branch of SHiNE Dance Fitness specializing in low-impact and simplified choreography. SHiNE LIGHT uses all the same routines that you will find in SHiNE, but we reduce impact, increase stability and modify the moves to meet the needs of our students. It is a mood-lifting, confidence-boosting experience for anyone needing a more inclusive approach to dance fitness. We believe everyone deserves the FUN that dance provides. Join us! CERTIFICATION PROCESS
Online training
- PURCHASE AND COMPLETE THE SHINE DANCE FITNESS INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION
- All SHiNE LIGHT instructors must first complete the SHiNE Dance Fitness instructor training. Information from the traditional SHiNE Dance Fitness training is foundational to the SHiNE LIGHT program, and SHiNE LIGHT training content builds off of the basic training.
- PURCHASE AND COMPLETE THE SELF-GUIDED, VIRTUAL SHINE LIGHT TRAINING
- SHiNE LIGHT training is only available for purchase by SHiNE Dance Fitness instructors with active memberships.
- REGISTER AS A SHINE LIGHT INSTRUCTOR (NO ADDITIONAL MEMBERSHIP FEES!)
- Registering grants you access to the SHiNE LIGHT Resource Library (accessed via the current Resource Library in the SHiNE Instructor Portal) to help promote and prepare for your classes. Registration also allows you to submit your class for placement on the official Location Finder.

SHINE LIGHT INSTRUCTOR FAQ
Yes. All SHiNE LIGHT instructors must first complete the SHiNE Dance Fitness instructor training. Information from the traditional SHiNE Dance Fitness training is foundational to the SHiNE LIGHT program, and SHiNE LIGHT training content builds off of the basic training.
SHiNE LIGHT certification is available to current SHiNE Dance Fitness instructors for $175.
SHiNE LIGHT instructors pay the same amount as traditional SHiNE Dance Fitness instructors – $24.99/month OR $255/year for licensing. There are no additional monthly/yearly fees to teach SHiNE LIGHT once certified.
SHiNE LIGHT training is roughly 6 hours worth of content. It is a self-paced, virtual workshop with periodic quizzes to ensure retention and a final quiz to complete the training.
Nope! After passing your final quiz, you will receive your certificate of completion.
Training quizzes, including the final quiz, can be retaken without penalty until a passing score is achieved.
Nope! While SHiNE LIGHT classes do incorporate toning routines, they do not require any equipment.
No. However, SHiNE LIGHT was originally launched as a special live training at SHiNE Instructor Summit 2023. You’ll see several clips from this training incorporated throughout the virtual workshop.
One of the benefits for SHiNE students is that they can attend a SHiNE class anywhere around the globe and have a similar experience because our instructors use the same choreography. To help create a consistent experience for our students, we ask that instructors use approved SHiNE choreography. However, we do permit instructors to use up to 2 of their own choreographed routines in a 1-hour playlist if they so desire. Certified SHiNE instructors have hundreds of routines to choose from, so no class is ever the exact same and instructors have the freedom to build their own playlist.
We do NOT permit instructors to change the music used with our original choreography. The only exceptions are for holiday routines that are used for a short period of time and the SHiNE warm up, the structure of which can be applied to a variety of songs meeting certain criteria outlined in instructor training.
